Ben Yedder, a former France player, was penalized for the psychological abuse of his wife.

Wissam Ben Yedder, a former France international, was found guilty on Wednesday of psychological abuse against his divorced wife and fined 90,000 euros.

According to his attorney Marie Roumiantseva, Ben Yedder, who was not present at the verdict, will file an appeal.

The 35-year-old former forward for Monaco and Sevilla was convicted for the second time in less than a year.

He was sentenced in November to two years in prison with a suspended sentence for sexually assaulting a lady two months earlier.

In 2023, a Spanish court also sentenced him to six months of suspended imprisonment for tax fraud committed when he was at Sevilla from 2016 to 2019.

Additionally, he and his brother Sabri are being investigated for the alleged 2023 rape of two women, which the two men deny.
